A shot from a Nordstrom Pop-Up we held in 2019.

Nothing Small About Small Business.

Small business owners are often one-man-shows meaning they wear every hat and occupy every role the business needs to succeed. Imagine being in sales, marketing, product creation, and customer service all the time. You are even HR, which can get a little weird.  It's a lot of pressure and a lot of work.

Okay, hopefully, I haven't scared you off from beginning your own small business. Let's be real, it's no walk in the park. But hey! Let's look at the bright side because there is a lot to love about owning a small business.

  • You're in charge. Your vision, your process, your call. You have complete creative control.
  • You work on your time. At your pace and on your time, you can have complete control over how you spend your time.
  • Financial freedom. Over time, as your business grows, you'll be able to turn your passion/side hustle to your full-time gig.

So, why am I writing about this on our Hundenfolk page? Well, simply put, we get asked lots of questions on how we started, what pitfalls we've avoided and fallen into, and how people can start running their own shops. We also get lots of compliments from friends and fans sharing that it looks like we've got it all under control. Very flattering, but not always the case.

As we continue throughout our journey, I'll be writing about our opportunities, experiences, and failures here on our site. I'd like to know from all of you what you want to hear about. Want to know how to get started from scratch? How to find your brand style? How to set up a successful Pop-Up? I'm here to share everything we know, are learning and what we plan to try next.

Ask us anything in the comments below, I can't wait to get started.

Until then,

-xoxo jules
