January Reset, Done Simply
A Note from the Shop
The new year always seems to arrive sooner than expected.
Between the holidays, travel, guests, late nights, and broken routines, a lot happens all at once. It’s easy to lose sight of the small, steady rhythms that anchor a dog’s day. Meals shift. Treats add up. Walks look different. Nothing dramatic but it can be just enough change to nudge things off balance.
We're seeing it in the shop now. Dogs who feel a little off digestively, energetically, even emotionally. And it’s usually the moment when people feel the urge to add something as a fix.
Most of the time, the better move is the opposite.
Our January Trail Pick
So, January is when we strip things back.
When dogs come in feeling a little off after the holidays, this is the reset we reach for first.
We start with Smallbatch Lightly Cooked as a clean, uncomplicated foundation. From there
Green Juju Leaf gently supports gut ecology without overwhelming a system that's already trying to recalibrate.
For some dogs, a little bone broth can help during a transition period; especially if hydration or appetite has been inconsistent. This reset works because it does less not more.
From the Shop Floor
If you're local, the door's open.
We're always happy to look at what you're feeding now, talk through what's been added over time, and help you decide what actually makes sense for your dog.
Sometimes the most helpful thing we do is help people remove things.
A Closing Thought
This year, we're choosing intention over intervention. Fewer things, better reasons, and care that holds up over time.
Hail to the Hound,
Nick from Hundenfolk
